And the Winner is…

…me!  Check out Bill of the Birds’ Caption Contest #10 and the announcement of the winner.  This kind of makes up for the other thing I “won” this week, which was being selected for jury duty.   I just hope Kanye doesn’t show up and say Beyonce had a better caption than I did…

Thanks Bill!

  1. I am impressed. You had steep competition. Now, all you need are some backyard birds for your prize.

The main problem with jury duty in Queens (assuming it is in Queens) is that it is not jury duty in Manhattan. You can’t go to Chinatown for lunch. You can’t go anywhere for lunch! Three courthouses, and not one near a good cheap restaurant.

  2. I need a backyard first!

And I was called in Queens, and I live close enough to the courthouses to walk home…but I have postponed being a juror until April because I would have had to start calling two days after Daisy’s due date.

  3. I have a backyard. oh, I see what you did…nice.

And, good move with postponement. Now that Lou’s daughter has given birth to the triplets, it’s your turn! (I went many years without jury duty because they used to have a mom clause. They really need a birders clause, which says birders can’t be called in May or if a rarity appears within 100-miles.)
