Aussie shorebirds in steep decline

A recent study has revealed that 81% of Australia’s resident wading birds have disappeared in just quarter of a century throughout the mostly inland habitats of eastern Australia. The whys and wherefores - including a decline of 98% in the numbers of Banded Lapwing - are on the BirdLife International website.
