Birds Like Sports

How can a single bird get the attention of tens of thousands of people at one time?  By disrupting a football (soccer) game!  Go check out the video at George Bristow’s Secret Freezer.

On a related note, my cousin Laura provided me with this photograph of a Red-winged Blackbird watching the Mets defeat the Diamondbacks at Shea Stadium on June 2nd.  her friend, Vanessa Connell, actually took the picture.

Take me out to the ballgame…

Hopefully when I head down to watch a different kind of bird, the St. Louis Cardinals, visit Shea Stadium the Mets will not be so fortunate.

Birding is local but conservation is global. Share a dollar for the Sharpe's Longclaw...
