Eastern Tiger Swallowtail

getting some nectar

While visiting my grandmother today I took some time to investigate what bugs were hanging out on her lilac bushes. There were lots of cool bugs, but nothing could top this Eastern Tiger Swallowtail.

and again…

It was such a gorgeous specimen that I followed it when it flew to the other lilac bush!

same buttefly, different bush

A day with the family, food, butterflies, and lilacs. I really don’t have much to complain about…except that I heard both Carolina Wren and Fish Crow while I was visiting my folks. That was enough to drive me crazy considering we missed both species yesterday on the Century Run!
