South America boast over 3200 bird species but only a handful of bird bloggers. I suppose that explains why we’ve never had an edition of I and the Bird hosted from that continent… until now. At last, we’ve swept the Americas! We’ve done it in style too, thanks to our avifaunally adept, technologically savvy host, Gunnar Engblom. Gunnar’s commitment to spreading the birding word via social networks is nothing short of evangelical. He and I may disagree on little things like etiquette or the value of backlinks but we are most assuredly on the same page when it comes to excellent bird blogging being read widely. Fire up your favorite social network and check out what is sure to be the most widely-ReTweeted edition of IATB ever. I and the Bird #104 appears in two partsIATB #104 part 1.

Are you traveling this month? I and the Bird sure is, jetting from Peru to New England to meet our next host, Christopher of Picus Blog.  One can only wonder what level of blogging brilliance Christopher will bring to this edition. Make sure you’re a part of it by sending your link and summary to mike AT 10000birds DOT com or Picusblog AT comcast DOT net by July 21 for the 7/23 edition!
