I and the Bird is logging a lot of frequent flyer miles these days. In the past two months alone, we’ve peregrinated from New York to India to New Mexico to Minnesota, some odd geographic choices to be sure. Believe it or not, we’re back to India, courtesy of Thomas of Walk the Wilderness. The return trip is definitely worth it to just to travel around the world with IATB again. See what I mean when you read this massive (66 entries!) globe-spanning edition of I and the Bird #112.

Two weeks ago, I sounded the clarion call for hosts to carry I and the Bird through at least to the beginning of 2010. The response that followed was nothing short of phenomenal! My heartfelt respect and gratitude go out to everyone, experienced hosts and aspirants alike, for acting so quickly to get our carnival back on track. We are now booked solidly through March 2010 and beyond with other members of the community still queuing up for hosting duties.  Isn’t that amazing?

The first person to step up to rectify our curator crisis was Matthew Sarver, who will be hosting IATB #113 at The Modern Naturalist. Way to be, Matt! Please send links and summaries for your best recent posts on birding or wild birds (one per blog, thank you) to me or Matt (matt AT matthewsarver DOT com) by 11/10 for the 11/12 edition.
