I and the Bird #137

Is it possible that some human beings in the year 2010 don’t know what a blog carnival is? Believe it or not, the answer is yes. In fact, it’s safe to say that most people, maybe even most bloggers, have no idea what a blog carnival is. That’s too bad, as a vibrant blog carnival is the perfect vehicle for gifted bloggers to reach their natural audiences.

I know a thing or two about blog carnivals; not only have I participated in and hosted my fair share, I’ve also written guides about participating and hosting and even spoken about them at science conferences and birding festivals. The reason for this is that blog carnivals represent much of the best of online media. Consider the carnival a periodic anthology of links riffing off a theme. A blog carnival that serves your interest will expose you to many of the most active and engaging writers in that niche.

If you’re interested in wild birds or birding, I and the Bird is the carnival for you. Since July 2005, I and the Bird has connected many hundreds of bird bloggers to bird and nature lovers around the world.  While new contributors join us all the time, we’re lucky to have a core of contributors who participate and host the carnival regularly.
