In searching for news about the birding world, as I often do, I came across this article that gives some information about how the Jackson Convention and Visitors Bureau is successfully bringing birders and birdwatchers to Jackson County, Michigan, where they spend their hard-earned dollars while watching birds. And it’s no wonder, with the nicely put together birdwatching portion of the Jackson County Visitor’s Bureau website.

It’s a nice page. Too often civic attempts to attract birders have awkward language that indicates that the person who wrote the copy doesn’t really get what they’re trying to sell. This doesn’t have that at all. It looks like someone working in Jackson County, Michigan, is a real deal birder.
Yupp, cool county. Been there – done that, it is right next to Washtenaw County and thus Ann Arbor.
Jackson county is where I saw all of my Henslow’s Sparrows and an excellent birding area in general. Highly recommended, almost as much as Washtenaw County. 😉
