Meet the New Vireos

Nick Sly over at Biological Ramblings has written a typically thorough (but even for a non-science bod like myself easily digested) account of some interesting molecular work on the relationships between vireos, shrike-babblers, and what was formerly known as the White-bellied Yuhina but has been re-named White-bellied Erpornis (much easier to remember…). Turns out I’ve been seeing vireos in Asia and not even realising it…but then I doubt whether many other people did either…

Charlie works for an airline and has birded all over the world for twenty years. He wants to be a writer, and thinks no-one would believe his life could be so charmed if he didn't take photos of as many of the birds he sees as possible. Blogging with 10,000 Birds fits his aims, needs, and insecurities perfectly. Really - do birders get much more fortunate than this?

  2. PS… thanks for the link :)

  3. He should, he should. And then post what he writes on 10,000 Birds … :)
