Merry Masemas!

While the rest of the United States populace is getting jiggy with corned beef and green beer for St. Patrick’s Day, the Core Team celebrates a holiday far dearer to our hearts. Today is the sacred feast of Masemas, observed by showering a certain wonderful boy with gifts, cake, and lots of special attention. Please join us in wishing Master Mason Hopkins Bergin a fabulous first birthday! (Thank Aunt Ursula for the fancy birthday attire.)

A team of researchers has found that the populations of common birds around the stricken Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan has plummeted. Most disturbingly, the populations of species that the area has in common with Chernobyl has fallen more in Fukushima than they did in the site of worst nuclear disaster in world history.
