Short-tailed Albatross re-introduction project

The Yamashina Institute for Ornithology (in collaboration with the US Fish and Wildlife Service) has just started an ambitious reintroduction project of the Vulnerable Short-tailed Albatross. On 19 February 10 albatross chicks from Torishima were taken to the uninhabited Mukojima Island in the Ogasawara Islands group. For details see Yamashina I O
