Uranium mining threat to Grand Canyon

To quote from the Center for Biological Diversity’s latest appeal, “on public lands atop [aquifers] not far from Grand Canyon National Park’s boundary…a uranium-mining boom now threatens the water that brings life to an international treasure’s biological diversity and provides drinking water to millions of Americans in the Colorado River.” CBD has an online petition at http://salsa.democracyinaction.org. Will signing it make a difference? More than NOT signing it…
