Where Are You Birding this Final Weekend of April 2009?

By April 23, 2009 5 comments

Have you spent your April wisely? Will you look back on this past month as one of action or inertia, of adventure or apathy? You’ve got precious little time left to make things happen. So what will you be doing this weekend and do your plans involve birding? Share your ambitions and expectations in the comments below!

I’m headed down to New York City for family and friends but alas no birds. Even worse, as I’m arriving on his veritable doorstep, Corey will be leaving for Cape May, NJ. Was this planned? Actually, I shouldn’t feel bad since Charlie will be in Toronto, which is just a few hours from Rochester, while I’m away. A comedy of errors as only your friends at 10,000 Birds can deliver!

Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday

Dawn breaks over Panama’s renowned Canopy Tower (Check out Charlie’s dazzling trip reports!)

  2. 10,000 birds; 300 Skywatch pictures. Can never get too much of a good thing!!!!

  4. Shawnee State Forest in southern Ohio with a big group of friends. Due to limited birding time in my life this year, tomorrow will be my first warblers of the year, so I’m pumped!

  5. I enjoy early Spring in the Fraser Valley in Southwestern British Columbia, Canada, if only for the incredible amount of birds appearing during migration.
The last few years have brought out an incredible array of birds not normally seen in these parts, possibly due to the impact of global warming, and I hope to embark on a proper study of these birds this year.
Among them are the Eastern Bluebird, Western Tanager, Brown Pelican!, Western Kingbird and more.
In addition to the admiring the nesting behaviours of many indigenous birds at sanctuaries in my area, I hope to expand on that knowledge this year as well.
    Happy Birding!
