Whether you’re an optimist or pessimist, you have to admit that our glasses are filling nicely, if not a bit slowly. This season of extreme cold (or heat) is on the wane, leading to a more moderate and eventually migratory season. Plus, if your kids have been home all week like mine have, they’ll be back in school in no time. Celebrate by getting out into nature this weekend! How will you be spending this weekend and will there be birding involved? Share your plans in the comments below!

I need to find a few winter birds that haven’t yet crossed my path. Where I’ll find them is anybody’s guess. Corey is equally uncertain about where he’ll be birding this weekend, but pleased to report that he will be arriving at that place in his new automobile.

Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!

If you look up to see birds soaring overhead, you may be as perceptive as a birder
