The arrival of August stuns those of us in the Northern Hemisphere into an introspective panic. Is summer really almost over? Have I squandered it?!? Absolve yourself of summertime guilt by enjoying this weekend to the hilt. How will you do it? Let us know in the comments below and be sure to mention if you’ll be birding!

The family and I will be spending the weekend at Lake Skaneatles, one of the Finger Lakes. Seth and I may try to sneak in some birding if we can find someplace other than Montezuma to visit. Corey will be tearing up Long Island like his life depends on it; expect a plethora of reports, including some of a pelagic nature, next week. Charlie will continue his indefatigable efforts on behalf of rare and endangered birds everywhere.

Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday
