We’ve almost done it, friends… almost made it through another year! And while dire situations and snowpocalypses may afflict humanity across the globe, the safe money says we’ll see this year through to the next. So how will you be ringing in the New Year and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below.

I’m recovering rapidly from my recent shoulder surgery, but the injury remains inconvenient enough to keep me from indulging in my typical New Year’s Eve excesses. The status of my shoulder may also dissuade me from my traditional New Year’s Day birding excursion. How about you? Corey’s got the right idea; while the particulars are unclear, he will be somewhere in southern California, racking up species for his brand new 2011 year list!

Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!

Enjoy big blue skies over sunny California
