Most Americans are enjoying an early Thanksgiving weekend, for which I’m thankful. My family and many others are looking forward to veritable feasts to honor the fall harvest, for which I am also thankful. I also give thanks today for 10,000 Birds, our awesome writers, and our awesome readers… love you guys! And as I’m digging into my Thanksgiving lentil loaf (and perhaps some turkey too) and considering the many things and people to be grateful for, I’ll be giving a special thanks for everyone who helped me see new birds this year and will be helping me next year!

I’m in northern Pennsylvania farm country looking for rural birds. Corey is more of an urban avian warrior, but may pop up anywhere in New York state. How about you? Where will you be this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below.

Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!

Keep your eyes to the skies for birds to be thankful for, like the current waves of winter finches!
