Beware the Ides of February! Schools across the United States are closing for Mid-Winter Break, which means the nation will be abuzz with energetic kids fighting boredom. Some families will travel, while others might prefer to hunker down and hibernate. How about you? What will you be doing this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below.

My family is driving up from NYC for a long Rochester weekend. Since none of them particularly enjoy or even appreciate the beauty of nature, I don’t foresee much birding. Better refill the feeders! Corey, on the other hand, hopes to be out on a boat in lower New York Harbor on Sunday as a make-up for last week’s weathered out trip.

Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!
