Where Are You Birding This Second Weekend of July 2009

Mid-July is upon us. What else can I say? For many of us, this time of year feels a welcome respite from the hubbub of other seasons. Whatever you’re doing, try to have some fun! On that note, what will you be doing this weekend? Is bird watching on your itinerary? Share your plans in the comments below.

I might try to spot a bittern or two this weekend with Seth. Corey will continue to blaze birding trails across NYC Metro and beyond. Charlie? Well, Charlie lives on a grand English estate now (seriously) so I imagine he’ll have the servants shift some songbirds his way whilst he reclines in splendor.

Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday

Clear skies over Charlie’s manor house!

  1. Beautiful shot !!

I love those wispy clouds and the reflections in the water..

  2. Hey Mike, I think I could live there. Looks pretty darn nice.

I will be birding Burney Falls in Shasta County this weekend. We will see Black Swifts for sure but hopefully a Pileated Woodpecker and assorted songbirds. If we stop at Lake Britton also, we should see some Purple Martins and maybe Bank Swallows, Golden Eagles perhaps and other raptors as well as water foul.

The weather should be perfect and the scenery gorgeous so…

    good birding to all!
