Where Are You Birding This Third Weekend of August 2010?

By August 19, 2010 5 comments

August is almost gone, which means your local migratory birds will soon depart as well, assuming they’ve hung around this long! Enjoy another (hopefully awesome) August weekend. Speaking of weekends, what will you be doing this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below.

Corey and I will likely engage in only incidental birding. Charlie, on the other hand, will be at the very epicenter of the birding universe as he works the British Birdfair as part of the official Birdfair TV team. Wow!!!

Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!

  1. Splendorous indeed.

  2. I will be visiting Arakhiya Animal Feed Farm in Qatar in the hopes of getting a good look at a Hoopoe!

  3. Er … well, Leimen, I guess.

  4. I’m off to the West Coast and headed to Monterey, CA to check in on some birds…hoping for some new lifers out there.

  5. Eva, even if you don’t get too many lifers, and you should, the sea otters make up for it.

I plan to poke along the Dee Estuary on the Flintshire side to pick up some straggler summer migrants and the start of the winter visitors.
