September is a ‘tweener month, straddling two seasons and belonging entirely to neither. Helen Hunt Jackson describes this delectable transition in a poem entitled, what else, September:

By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer’s best of weather
And autumn’s best of cheer.

I’m hoping for the best of weather and cheer this weekend as I visit NYC to go birding in Queens with Corey. Corey will probably also support birds and all other living things by participating in the People’s Climate March in Manhattan on Sunday, 9/21. Don’t miss it, New Yorkers!

How about you? Where will you be this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below.

Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!
