White-cheeked Barbet

Bangalore, western India. 18 November 2007
A fairly small barbet, with a typically loud and insistent call (”tocc-tocc-tocc” in this case), this is a western Indian endemic. I photographed these two birds in Lalbag Park, Bangalore where they were easy to find in any area with large trees.

Hi,
I am an amateur bird photographer. I belong to vidarbha region of Maharashtra state in India. There are plenty of bird varieties in Central India. I have not seen much photographs from this region in 10000birds. have you any plans to visit this region in near future? There are three world famous tiger sanctuaries near me. Tadoba-Andhari(120 km), Karmazari (70 km)and kanha -kisli (260 km), which are incidentally very good for bird watchers too.
I am indeed impressed by the content of your website. It has also become sort of popular amongst local bird watchers’ group.
Thanks for beautiful photographs which could not have been done without pain and immense patience.
