Common Yellowthroat in Wales
By Corey • February 20, 2012 • 7 commentsIt is quite the twitching scene in Rhiwderin for the second record of Yellow-throated Warbler Common Yellowthroat in Wales and the eleventh in the United Kingdom. Over a thousand birders have seen the bird so far. I don’t know why all the excitement – there are plenty of Yellow-throated Warblers in Florida (or Common Yellowthroats in New York) for the watching…

Looks like the newspaper got that wrong. It’s a Common Yellowthroat: http://www.gwentbirding.blogspot.com/2012/02/done-and-done.html
The article got the species wrong. It is not a Yellow-throated Warbler but a Common Yellowthroat, see here:

Of course this matters little as both species are equally amazing in the UK. Anvious? Me?!? Noooo.
Wait, I’m wrong. Looks like there’s one of each.
Nope, right the first time. I assumed the photo of the YT Warbler on the newspaper site was the bird in question. I guess it’s a stock photo.
Hi Nate, parallel commenting, ey? Nice!!
Yes, the photo in the article also confused me. But as you mention, I guess it’s a photo grabbed somewhere off the Internet.
Oh yeah: I know it’s “E-nvious”, it was a typo, okay?
Thanks guys, fixed.
