That is, if you celebrate Easter. Personally, I don’t believe in all of the religious stuff that goes with it but I sure do like chocolate bunnies and looking for Easter eggs, so, you know, I’ll hang out with the Easter Bunnadee, a distant relation of the Bunny Tanager. Thanks to Steph for making this image so perfect! Have a happy holiday everyone!

Happy Easter back at you! I found your website this morning while trying to identify a white-bottomed, grey-topped bird with a huge wing-span, flying very low (20 to 30 ft.) from a standing position in my (very wet) back acre to a tree near the front of the house. It has an almost S-shaped neck. My husband, without seeing it, listening only to my description, says it’s a heron. We don’t have a telephoto lens… wish I could get a really good picture for your site. Officially, this would be my first posting. We are in WARWICK, NY, western Orange County, 3 miles from the Sussex County, NJ border. VERY wet here, with plenty of frogs, moles, chipmunks, and insects. We also enjoy hawks and turkeys, every day. I’ll check into joining your group.
Your husband is correct, Dotsie. The bird you saw was a Great Blue Heron, a species I love to watch in flight.
