Drill for oil in the Everglades? Really? Not only would drilling in the Everglades help destroy one of the most amazing wetland ecosystems of the United States but THERE IS NO OIL THERE!
Even fellow-crazy-right-winger, Republican Congressman Allen West, says that her statements are an “incredible faux pas.”
She’s a real life troll who gets attention by saying ridiculous things that get people in a tizzy. The best thing we can do with her is stop paying attention unless she actually tries to do something as a congresscritter.
Michelle Bachmann is a whack job. She is about as far right as you can get, if not off the scale. She attended Oral Roberts University where they teach that American law should be based on the bible! Isn’t this why the founding fathers came to America and believed in the separation of church and state? Does this sound strangely like politicians that would like our government to become a theocracy? Ya know, kinda like what we’re fighting against in Iran?
New Yorker Washington correspondent Ryan Lizza spent four days with Bachmann and her staff aboard their campaign jet in mid-June and he did an interview you can read on NPR about what he discovered about Michelle Bachmann. Scary stuff!
My mom is a little old lady that goes to church every chance she gets and watches Fox News the rest of the time…and even SHE thinks Bachmann is a nutcase. And here we were worrying about Palin…
Yeah, I’m not too happy with any of the current prez contenders from the GOP. I don’t get why they go on with the shrill bleating about environmentalism when there are so many other things that they could focus on to get my vote.
Bachmann makes Palin look like a liberal! lol
Agreed! Are the Corey posts always followed with an “a” on the RSS reader?
@Garrett: We could never figure out why that happens. It just happens sometimes to posts and sometimes it doesn’t. But if it is my archive you are interested in you can look here.
I suspect that somehow, in her head, anything that upsets an environmentalist automatically produces oil. I suppose that – seeing how a creationist might have problems with the ‘fossil’ part of fossil fuels – she had to come up with an alternative theory like that.
The insanity is that she is an elected representative of the American people. Like it or not, millions voted for her.
@Jochen: Actually she won her last Congressional election with 159,479 votes. Our Congressional districts are relatively small which is why we have so many crazy congresspeople.
Shear craziness. Picture a GOP ticket of Perry-Bachman, or Bachman-Perry. Makes Democrats smile.
Around this time next year, we’ll know whether there is any more plain ol’ common sense left in this country. I’m deeply saddened that so many people don’t recognize what’s in their own interests, such as a healthy, diverse planet. Oh, people want a healthy planet, unless they have to pay the cost of a healthy environment. Sadly, you get what you pay for.
As if the Everglades is not trashed enough!
