The first oil-soaked bird from the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has been rescued. The young Northern Gannet was washed with dish soap and a full recovery is hoped for. In the meantime, the partial-term ex-governor of Alaska, you know, the crazy moron who almost became vice president, has posted an idiotic defense of continued drilling on her Facebook page. Still, that beats Rush Limbaugh, who seems to think “environmentalist wackos” sabotaged the drilling platform and are to blame for the spill. Seriously.

I am so upset about this, I can’t even say. Yup, let’s let business police itself because they always put the greater good first not profit. Why didn’t the administration respond more quickly and why wasn’t there something in place for this because it was going to happen. I just cry at the thought of all that wetland and all the wildlife…oh damn
Wow. I followed that link to Palin’s page…and then inexplicably I read some of the comments from her admirers. And now I weep for the future of humanity.
@ramblingwoods: You mean self-regulation doesn’t work in the for-profit world? Who’d’ve thunk it? 🙂
@Kirby Adams: Oh, I am sorry…that link should have come with a warning label!
As disgusted as I am with Palin and her show-boating (and that’s seriously disgusted), I have to say the majority of my disgust has to lie with the Obama Administration, who has the power to actually do something that a Fox News contributor lacks, essentially echoing Palin’s policy and refusing to see the dangers of deep-water drilling even as it slaps them in the face with 210,000 gallons per day of crude. But let’s face it, with regard to this catastrophe, I have no shortage of disgust to go around.
Limbaugh though, well that’s a whole ‘nother level of lunacy.
