What kinds of posts do we have on 10,000 Birds, and when are they published? Probably not a question many of you will ask a lot, but we will answer it anyway.
We have two types of posts (of course, all of them related to birds and birding).
Our regular beat writers have a fixed slot – weekly, biweekly, or monthly – for their posts. So, for example, every Friday David Thomlinson will write about his birding experiences.
The other type is our seven series – one for each day of the week:
- On Mondays, we publish a profile of a birding lodge (“Birding Lodges of the World”)
- On Tuesdays, we introduce an individual bird guide (“Bird Guides of the World”)
- On Wednesdays, we answer a birding-related question (“Ask a Birder”)
- On Thursdays, we satisfy the hunger of birders for lists (“Birder’s Lists”)
- On Fridays, we look at a single bird species (“Species Spotlight”)
- On Saturdays, we republish some of our favorite old posts (“From the Archives”)
- On Sundays, we take a rest from writing and just show three photos (“Three Photos”)
We are happy to get input from you for all these series – for example, if you have bird guides to recommend, birding questions to ask, or old 10,000 Birds posts to praise. In particular, if you are a bird photographer yourself, why not contact us so we can show some of your photos to a broader audience?
