Corey is a New Yorker who lived most of his life in upstate New York but has lived in Queens since 2008. He's only been birding since 2005 but has garnered a respectable life list by birding whenever he wasn't working as a union representative or spending time with his family. He lives in Forest Hills with Daisy and Desmond Shearwater. His bird photographs have appeared on the Today Show, in Birding, Living Bird Magazine, Bird Watcher's Digest, and many other fine publications. He is also the author of the American Birding Association Field Guide to the Birds of New York.
I’m sure the movie will retain the book’s respectful attitude toward birding and its participants and not resort to slapstick humor and “blue-footed boobie” jokes.

A website called The Frat Pack, which follows the movie moves of Ben Stiller, the Wilson Brothers, etc., reports that Ben Stiller is one of the producers and that the casting is:
* Dustin Hoffman as Al Levinton
* Owen Wilson as Sandy Komito
* Jack Black as Greg Miller
Which is really odd. I assumed Dustin would be a perfect Sandy Komito.
And yeah, like Nick says, this is a movie that will doubtless communicate why birders are obsessed with birding.
Dustin Hoffman has been replaced by Steve Martin in the role of Al. They will be shooting n Tofino BC beginning in April.
How is it that my Dad was in his ’60’s at the time of his second record breaking year but Owen Wilson is playing him? I’m a fan of Owen wilson but am wondering how he will fit my dad’s personality?
Donna: I always thought that Sean Connery would be a good Sandy. They both look alike and possess that same “booming” quality to their respective voices. And although I never met any of the others involved in the Bid Year competition (I am not a brider whatsoever – aside from a feeder on my deck), I thought Kevin James would make a good Greg Miller.
