Three Photos: Instructions for Contributors

“Three Photos” is a weekly series of blog posts on 10,000 Birds, a website for birders and other people interested in birds

Each post contains three bird photos by the same photographer. The three photos should not be of the same species but have a common theme. This theme could be

  • A location
  • A bird family
  • A bird activity
  • A habitat
  • Something more abstract, e.g., a color, a mood, a time of the day, a season, etc.

If you want to contribute, please send the following:

  • The theme
  • The three bird photos you want to be featured. The photos should preferably be in landscape format (works better in posts) and be in a common photo format such as jpg. The size should not be larger than 500 kb (if you send larger files, they will be compressed before being put online). While the title of the series is “Three Photos”, you can also post a few more (e.g., up to 6 in total) if you think that better illustrates your “theme”.
  • For each photo, please indicate the bird species, the location, and the date
  • The name of the photographer as you want it to be published at the end of the post. If you want, you can also add some additional information on the photos here, such as the equipment used.

There is no specific timeline, but generally, contributions will be published in the order we receive them.

For examples of previous contributions, please see here:

I will edit your input into the format of our site and send you the result for your approval. Only posts you approve will be published.
