Well – as long as you do not ask for pay, that is! I am looking for additional writers who are interested in contributing posts covering our usual range of topics – birds, birding trips, reviews of bird books, bird photography, and so on.
While ideally, you would be willing to write regularly (i.e., weekly or biweekly), I will also be happy to accept one-off guest posts. So being afraid of commitment is not an excuse.
I am also looking for somebody who knows more about social media than me (not a high bar really) – somebody who can help me promote the site to people who never stood around a fax machine in awe.
If you are interested, please contact me at kai.pflug (at) gmail.com
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Kai
(and yes, the photo above is not a photo but an AI-generated image. Going with the times, or maybe just getting tired of waiting near a suitable sign for a bird to show up. Thanks to Kilian for generating it)
Does this mean that you are now in charge of this venerable site?
I heard some rumors that Mike now spends most of his time training for the annual snow-shoveling season. And that Corey now focuses on observing salamanders, because “They’re kind of cool, and they can’t fly away!” Now, we know that these aren’t just rumors. 😉
Indeed – I am in charge now, see the contact page etc. No worries though – just because the site is run by a German now does not mean 10,000 Birds will start a World War any time soon.
Well, M & C made and excellent choice for their successor! 🙂 But does this mean that any and all future submissions must include snips from scholarly ornithology papers, and references to the most eclectic indie bands?
No worries, Michael. In fact, I heard the new site administrator will have a much stricter content policy, simply deleting any posts containing non-birding topics and/or scientific information. A policy much overdue, if you ask me.
