School is out for summer! That may not be entirely accurate where you live, and even if it is, you may not care. But for so many of us, the end of the academic year opens up a whole host of opportunities and responsibilities. Here in the United States, bird migration may be over but people are now on the move. Where are you flocking to this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below!
I’m taking the kids down to their grandfather’s home for some rural Pennsylvania fun… would an Acadian Flycatcher in full song be too much to ask for? Corey plans to hit the beach, specifically Cupsogue Beach County Park on Long Island where the summer birding is sweet.
Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!
We’re celebrating Poop Week here, so keep your eyes to the skies for dive-bombing gulls like this wicked Western Gull
I’m either birding the Salton Sea/ Joshua Tree in southern California or hitting up the California coast. We haven’t decided yet. Should produce some sweet birds either way!
Great photo from that angle
birds are one of the many delightful creatures we get to share the planet with, happy bird and sky watching !
Great photo for SWF!Have a nice weekend!
Going to see if I can get some crapy pictures to share during Poop Week.
I’m birding at your blog this week – what a great shot – wicked indeed!
I dont know dudes and dudettes. Depends on if I get a full weekend off or not…but Ive been meaning to get to Medicine Lake National Wildlife Refuge in Montana.
I’ve already bagged my unexpected best birds of the week on the coast north of Wellington…
Hmmm, I wonder what he was shrieking at you . . .
Great shot.
Wonderful shot Mike!!! There’s a lake here, Mono Lake, where seagulls fly in from the coast to breed…so we have our share!!!
I will be birding photographing in and around our neighboorhood, as well as traveling some country lanes in back country and farm lands along the way into the big city. That bird is sure giving you the look-see;)
