Where Are You Birding This Final Weekend of June 2011?

School is out for summer! That may not be entirely accurate where you live, and even if it is, you may not care. But for so many of us, the end of the academic year opens up a whole host of opportunities and responsibilities. Here in the United States, bird migration may be over but people are now on the move. Where are you flocking to this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below!

I’m taking the kids down to their grandfather’s home for some rural Pennsylvania fun… would an Acadian Flycatcher in full song be too much to ask for? Corey plans to hit the beach, specifically Cupsogue Beach County Park on Long Island where the summer birding is sweet.

I’m either birding the Salton Sea/ Joshua Tree in southern California or hitting up the California coast. We haven’t decided yet. Should produce some sweet birds either way!

I dont know dudes and dudettes. Depends on if I get a full weekend off or not…but Ive been meaning to get to Medicine Lake National Wildlife Refuge in Montana.

Wonderful shot Mike!!! There’s a lake here, Mono Lake, where seagulls fly in from the coast to breed…so we have our share!!!

I will be birding photographing in and around our neighboorhood, as well as traveling some country lanes in back country and farm lands along the way into the big city. That bird is sure giving you the look-see;)
