What is so rare as a day in June? The Fireside Poet James Russell Lowell had some thoughts on the matter, but I recommend that you get out there and decide for yourself. You’ve only got a few more days in the month, so make the most of this weekend!
I’m taking my kids down to NYC to get in touch with their Bronx roots and family. Can’t let them loose that urban edge, can I? Conveniently, Corey is vacating the Tristate Region en route to the Capital Region celebrating his folks’ 40th wedding anniversary. Guess we’ll have to postpone our next epic birding adventure…
How about you? Where will you be this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below!
Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!
Only the luckiest of us see Oropendola nests when they look to the skies
(Read about how you can make your own good luck by visiting Asa Wright Nature Centre in Trinidad!)
I’ll be checking out the birds in the Kern River Valley, California as I split my time between Yellow-billed Cuckoo and Flammulated Owl surveys and owl nest box building!
I’m going to Red Rocks to see some Fur Seals!
I’ll be staying at a friend’s cabin this weekend near South Lake Tahoe. I’ll be looking to finally push my El Dorado County list over 175.
No serious birding in store for the moment but will be doing a breeding bird survey in coffee plantations near Santa Barbara, Costa Rica.
Hot, hot, unbearably hot. Maybe go look for some duckies and bunnies at the New Jersey Meadowlands.
