The sun shines on Colombia’s brilliant coffee-growing regions and abundant avifauna
The first weekend of August signals a psychological shift in temperate countries north of the equator. July is the time to forget about school and celebrate summer. August is the time to start worrying about the imminent return to routine. If you’re fretting the end of summer, don’t forget that you still have plenty of time left to enjoy it!
I just returned from a brief but exciting trip to Colombia and will take this weekend to catch my breath. Corey will be camping in Greene County with family and friends. How about you? Where will you be this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below.
Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!
I’ve got ten more minutes in bed before I get up before 4 and go to the airport to fly to Sydney. Royal NP, here I come!
Go find those Rock Warblers! GOOD LUCK! Enjoy the Superb Lyrebirds. 🙂
I’m in VENT Camp Chiricahua right now, on the Portal leg of the trip, so I’m hoping to do some birding in that area (fingers crossed for Starthroat!)
We have thunderstorms in the forecast, and a company activity scheduled for Saturday. If there are birds around, we’ll be looking for them!
Colombia! Awesome Mike, can’t wait to hear about that! With luck, I might look for shorebirds near Carara in Costa Rica. Jabirus have also shown up around there recently.
