February is the shortest month of the year. Consequently, you can’t waste a second if you want to fit a full month of activity in. Start now! What will you be doing this weekend and what birds are involved? Please share your plans in the comments below.
The 10,000 Birds team will take this weekend as a collective opportunity to regroup from recent adventures and plan future ones. Oh, and watch football! Super Bowl Sunday is one of my favorite holidays of the year. Go Colts!
Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!

Breathtaking landscape!
Happy Friday and happy weekend!
Birding along the Hudson River during the EagleFest this weekend. Hoping for some blue sky like the beautiful pic above!
Fantastic photo! I can see it a magazine layout!
…Wooly sky and Shuttle
Go Colts! That’s a great looking sky and I hope ours clears up enough to go birding somewhere.
Wow, amazing view! It’s rare to see photos like these (at least for me). I feel like I’m looking at a National Geographic photo. Great shot.
I’m birding the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge and then watching a presentation by Kenn Kaufman on Saturday. All part of the fun and festivities on Everglades Day!!
A truly breath taking scene. That is an awesome shot.
Like Adam, looking for eagles on the Hudson I will be on the QCBC field trip which always ends up the same day as Eaglefest, which means soup at the Nature Center! And though in past years I have turned my nose up at Superbowl Sunday, to the distress of the rest of my family, this weekend I must give in, with a good friend from NO holding a Who Dat, Yay Saints Superbowl party.
wow! what a majical, mystical view — beautiful!
Gorgeous photo! I’d love to say I was going birding in the locale you so beautifully captured – alas. I will be birding somewhere in western MA, probably the Berkshire Hills. I’ll be looking for irruptive winter birds – finches, et. al.
Oh, and of course I’ll be watching the Super Bowl. I don’t have a dog in that fight. Both teams are great and have compelling stories.
Beautiful Picture…my mouth remained opened in awed
Mesmerising!!
