Where Are You Birding This Fourth Weekend of June 2013?

All across North America and many other parts of the world, incarcerated children have granted their annual summer furloughs. All of our local beaches, parks, and malls will now echo with the shrieks and squeals of these exuberant miscreants. Looking for some peace and quiet? Go birding… if you see the “last child in the woods,” take a picture!

Now that vaguely summer-like weather threatens to visit Rochester, I may find myself birding poolside or lakeside. Corey is coastal as well, but better positioned to scoop up sweet sightings as he completes his West Coast excursion. How about you? Where will you be this weekend and will you be birding? You had me stumped for a moment, “incarcerated children on their annual summer furloughs”! 😉
I was accidentally “birding” yesterday, in a friend’s garden, in the middle of the city, on top of a hill: a Blackbird sat on the roof and sang for hours.
