Welcome to spring, all you denizens of the Northern Hemisphere! To the austral members of our audience, I bid a happy fall. Has anyone noticed great changes in your local avifauna over the last day or two? Probably not. Seasons, like species, have far fuzzier boundaries than many of us would like. But that ambiguity only adds to the fun, so enjoy these nascent days of a new season…

I’ll be experiencing early spring on the go as I rush from place to place this weekend. Corey will take a more measured approach as he scours Queens and Nassau County for the first wave of the vernal vanguard. How about you? Where will you be this weekend and will you be birding?
