Don’t you love this time of year? If you live in the United States, you’re either looking at a long weekend or wishing you had one. All around the world, temperatures are becoming more clement as birds and humans alike begin to settle in for the next season. What will you be doing this glorious weekend? Do your plans include bird watching? Please share your plans in the comments below!
My weekend will be light on birding but highly enjoyable nonetheless as good friends from our of town are coming for a visit. Corey will undoubtedly be combing NYC for every last remaining spring migrant. Charlie may take a moment to enjoy the world outside his cottage but may just as likely stay in to keep mighty Puerto Rico Month rolling.
Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday…
Sunrise over Astana, Kazakhstan by Corey Finger
(Corey is unpacking an epic week of birding in Kazakhstan so stay tuned for his reports…)
I’ll actually be up at Doodletown Road looking for breeding Cerulean and Hooded Warblers on Saturday with the Queens County Bird Club.
I’m supposed to be going to Cairo: I can either stay in and OR I can go and take photos of the Pyramids – I’ll let the readers vote 🙂
I’ll be off to see my little sis get married!
Great capture of the sunrise. Shows the sun for what it is – a beautiful star.
Brilliant sunrise.
Sydney – City and Suburbs
Hopefully spotting more warblers 🙂
Birding in Kazakhstan. Sounds intriguing adventurous.
You know Corey you can come a little further upstate…
What a glorious start to the new day !!! Great photo..
Beautiful shot. Have a great weekend.
Teehee: My WINGS tour starts Saturday evening, so the weekend will be in the Camargue and atop Mont Ventoux. Should be an outstanding 10 days!
