Spring migration may be dwindling to a trickle by now, but vast movements of mammals are about to commence. I’m speaking, of course, about summer vacation! Summer in the United States unofficially begins this weekend. Are you on the road?
I’m on my way down to NYC, which apparently so unnerved Corey that he fled the country. Look for him somewhere in Canada! How about you? Where will you be this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below.
Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!
BirdLife Australia had it’s annual Network day yesterday for committee members from all round the country to spend time together working on plans and issues. This morning is the AGM and after that I’m taking some interstate members to Werribee. Tomorrow I’m taking a visiting German birder somewhere to do his first real birding, not just in Melbourne, but in the southern hemisphere!
How gorgeous!
I went to Jamaica Bay NWR yesterday and a string of parks in northeast Queens, NYC today. I haven’t decided where I’ll go tomorrow. With Corey out of the country maybe I’ll catch up to his number of species list for Queens county on ebird!
