The first month of the year is coming to an end. Have you established a foundation for health, happiness, and success in 2010? If not, make this the weekend you turn over a new leaf by getting outside and having some fun! Where will you be this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below.
I may have overdosed on birding in the past week so I’ll probably let my smoking bins cool down. Corey’s optics will probably be rimed with ice as he joins the rest of the Bloggerhead Kingbirds at the Super Bowl of Birding! Charlie will be checking his feeders as part of the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch.
Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!

What a breath-taking sight.
Wow, beautiful. I am from Flagstaff, AZ and it is very snowy here now. I was trying to avoid the snow but can’t anymore. 🙂 Am now enjoying snowshoeing. I keep seeing a flicker flying from the ponderosa forest towards the houses and the other day I heard chickadees. Enjoy your adventure.
Fantastic capture! Really stunning! Love your composition! Wishing you a great weekend!

Wonderful clounds – I like how you caught them hangingn so low!

My wife and I will be taking a small trip up to Ash Meadows in the Mojave Desert.
Photograph a few more birds for our project: 99 Shades of Brown: The Birds of the Mojave Desert.
Hope that everyone has had a wonderful January and are looking forward to a birdy February.
Wow! Well, where I plan on going can’t compare to that gorgeous pic! I’m planning on visiting Laredo, Tx to see the female Amazon kingfisher. Let’s hope she sticks around long enough for me to see her.
My wife and I will be going up to the North Georgia mountains tomorrow to see if we can’t see some of the snow that is predicted for the area.
Hopefully I’ll be able to get some nice shots of Juncos in the snow!
Hoping to catch a glimpse of a vagrant yellow-headed blackbird near Mt. Kisco, NY and watch the eagles come to roost at George’s Island, Montrose, NY.
This photograph leaves me speechless.
