With the end of July upon us, the time has come to shift your summer (or winter, depending on your relationship to the Equator) into overdrive. Make this weekend count! What are your plans this weekend and will you be birding? Please share your plans in the comments below.
My family and I had a tremendous time at Virginia Beach, but unfortunately, we’ll have to spend this weekend in a car just to get back home; looks like I’ll be highway birding! Corey will be birding locally and Charlie likely celebrating his big birthday. Sounds like a quiet weekend for the 10,000 Birds team.
Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!
Red moon over the Atlantic
California Gulch in Arizona’s Pajaritos, scouting for a Five-striped Sparrow tour next week. And maybe some shorebirding, I hope!
This will be my second weekend in New York city so I should continue learning North American birds… maybe will go and see what is Jamaica Bay.
Yellowstone!
I’m birding the White Mountains in Northern New Hampshire!
For the Last 13 years I had been serving overseas as a volunteer missionary for the SDA Church. I have been birding in Ukraine; The Philippines; Australia & South Korea. It’s always nice to come “HOME”. Now I am living in Missouri on The Sutter Farm. This weekend I was able to get some good views of the following: Kildeer; Barn Swallow; Eastern Kingbird; Red Tailed Hawk; and a lifer “Orchard Oriole” both male and female.
