Is it possible to travel too much during the summer? My typical response any season would be a resounding NO, but then again I’m usually battling a chronic case of wanderlust. But I’ve been on the move a lot lately at a time when responsibilities in my home territory continue to mount. One wonders how birding tour leaders and industry reps manage to embrace life on the road. So tell me… have you been traveling too much, too little, or just enough this summer?
As you might have guessed, I’ll be birding somewhere new this weekend. You’ll find me in the area of Tucson, Arizona with a number of other people you probably know. Details will most definitely follow! Corey will likely be scouring the NYC coastline for sexy shorebirds. How about you? Where will you be this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below.
Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!
Keep your eyes to picturesque skies, like the ones over Falls Lake in North Carolina
(Even though, as Nate points out, many of the attractions are in the mud!)
I’ll be scouring the coastline of the island Hiddensee, German Baltic sea coast, for shorebirds and other goodies to make sure Corey stays far, far behind me in our little competition. Hiddensee is very cool.
I am eager to get in some shorebird action but I doubt I will see any when guiding in the high elevations forests on Poas Volcano, Costa Rica today and tomorrow.
