Hoping for a hot one this weekend, though maybe not Africa desert hot!
While most humans tend towards vagrancy, at least in the vacationing sense, during the height of summer, northern birds seem content to stay local and play house. But domestic bliss only lasts so long among avians. All too soon, those steady-rolling drakes and hens feel the call of the road and need to ramble on. Some of them have already hit the road, so keep your eyes out!
I’m still trying to catch up from some awesome July travels, so don’t expect to see me in the field this weekend. Corey, on the other hand, will be seen EVERYWHERE as he’s a birding bachelor this weekend. How about you? Where will you be this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below.
Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!
I’ll be taking a trip to Maine!
