Rolling into the second weekend of February should remind us that even the most misanthropic birders can feel love for more than just the thrill of observing avifauna. Valentine’s Day may be, in many ways, merely a Hallmark holiday, but why miss an opportunity to celebrate the humans you love. Don’t worry… birds will always be there for you!
Corey and I will be managing time carefully in our respective corners of New York state to fit in both work and play. Birds will surely figure into the latter category. How about you? Where will you be this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below.
Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!
No particular birding plans this weekend, just hoping to see a few FOYs here in Heidelberg. However, it seems that a great trip to Kazakhstan will materialize this coming May, so I’ll likely have visions of blue-cheeked bee-eaters all weekend! Cheers to that!
I am hoping to get out in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park near my home in Ohio. It’s been cold and snowy all week but supposed to be almost 50 F tomorrow!
Just going to wander around the desert for a bit……I have a brand new carbon fiber tripod, and gimble head to practice with. I might make it over to Conquista Agraria and look for some coastal migratory shorebirds
