Rocky Mountain High, a great place to go birding according to our old pal Mike Freiberg
I’m bored. When will the new birds get here? 😉
Seriously, I cannot wait for spring migration. How about you? Owls and woodcocks should be easier to find around here in a few weeks, but until then, I’m just going to hang around with my kids. Corey is almost as discouraged, though I don’t know why, considering the megas he meets just about every week. This weekend, he’ll conjure up obscene rarities close to home!
How about you? Where will you be this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below.
Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!
Migration has already started around Chicago … flocks of cranes have been spotted, birders have found Myrtle Warblers, and Woodcocks are already colliding with skyscrapers.
As for me, if the weather holds, I might check out the local Audubon patch, or explore what the South Side has to offer, or see if there are any rarities worth chasing. Up-in-the-air birding!
