We’re deep into the Christmas Bird Count season, but all those other holidays observed during the last weeks of the year still lie ahead. They loom ever closer, though, so take a break from birding to wrap a few gifts or something!
My CBC is nothing bit a frozen memory now, so my family and I are free to visit the equally frigid Southern Tier of New York for holiday cheer and minimal birds. Corey, fresh off an epic Ugandan adventure, is packing for his annual escape to Southern California, where an abundance of birds awaits. How about you? Where will you be this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below.
Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!
Indeed, the time for the 2nd annual Michoacán CBC has arrived. Tomorrow I’ll be leading a team to the town of San Jerónimo, on the northern shore of Lake Pátzcuaro. Good times!
I’ll be going on the Canton-Potsdam CBC so I all about frigid and few birds!
