All across North America, parents, students, and most of all teachers are grappling with the wane of Winter Recess. The rest of us are just trying to get by. A weekend is a weekend… make the most of it! What are you doing this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below.
This weekend will be a wild one for the 10,000 Birds team. I’m flying down to Guatemala. Corey is on his way to Honduras. Charlie is checking things out in Kenya. You better believe we’ll have some stories to share!
Wherever you are this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday…

Mountain Retreat
I love this shot! Just stunning!
I will be shaking my fist at nonfunctional recording equipment, then when I beat it into shape, I’ll be begging scrub-jays to speak into it. Chance of success: slim. Envious of three bloggers who will be in tropical countries? Definitely.
What a great photo!
Mike I will be heading for Arizona by car this weekend! I sure hope I have opportunity to photograph some soaring birds while there! What an awesome capture this soaring eagle! Nice meeting you here..naturegirl 🙂

It’s not quite the weekend, but I did some birthday birding today in the Monterey Bay area, and in fact saw a bald eagle over the bay.
I will be in Georges Island Park in Montrose NY checking out the last of the wintering Bald Eagles. They will be heading north again very soon.
I love the shot well done, I have just bought a better camera so I can capture better bird shots. I bird watch everyday it is one of my joys and one of the benefits of being disabled I can spend all day gazing out of my window at my birds I dont get eagles but I love what I do see. I am logging the mating birds as I see them and try and encourage birds to my nest boxes Have a good weekend .Don
Wonderful capture!
