How I’d love to be pelagic birding in New Zealand right now!
What could be (better/worse) than the last dregs of winter? How about a week during that winter when your kids are not in school? How (awesome/less than awesome). Where I live, schools are closed next week for winter break, which seems an awfully long time to celebrate President’s Day. Whether you’re excited or ambivalent about this situation, you may be looking at anything from a long weekend to 10 days of (freedom/entertaining your children). How will you be spending this weekend and will there be birding involved? Share your plans in the comments below!
I’ll be focusing on work this weekend so I can bring my kids down to NYC next weekend. Hopefully that’s when I’ll get to go birding with Corey, who plans to scout the five boroughs for me in search of interesting birds! But I definitely plan to participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count. How about you?
Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!
I had a dream last night, where I found a really awesome, birdy boneyard, totally deserted, but for the birds.
I will actually be birding along the Vancouver seawall as much as possible, in hopes of finding a cormorant. My mother said she saw cormorants, so now I’m jealous, and have to see them, too.
