I am! I will be in Ohio for the middle weekend of September with the entire American birding world. Who else out there is going to join us? If you don’t go you will miss the guaranteed Kirtland’s Warbler!* And how do folks feel about we bird bloggers getting together for lunch one day?
If you haven’t registered yet, well, get to it!
*Kirtland’s Warbler not actually guaranteed.
I wish, but not this year unless I hit the lottery… but that will involve having to buy a ticket first, so yeah… not this year.
You flying or renting VW bus?
I wish I were going, especially because it will be pretty rainy in Costa Rica at that time.
@Will and Pat: Wait ’til next year!
@Seth: Driving. But not a VW bus. And I’ll be leaving from south Jersey.
Hey Corey,
Awesome that you’ll be there, man! Liz and I will, too, representing the ABA and Birder’s Exchange. I’m hugely looking forward to the MBS. There are going to be huge numbers of wonderful people there and doubtless quite a few birds, too.
I’m totally game for some kind of blogger/social media birder meet up.
Jeff
Oh well, if it was in Michigan, okay. But Ohio? Yaaaawn.
Kidding.
Well, it is tempting, but I don’t see myself buying a plane ticket from Germany to Detroit just now.
Wait, just let me check my wallet…
Nope. Not now.
All the best, and Kirtland’s Warblers are overrated. They are basically just another form of Connecticut warbler, okay? No big deal. Magnolias, onthe other hand… 😉
@Jeff: I look forward to meeting the both of you!
@Jochen: Next year then…
@Corey: I dunno – no potential lifers amongst the regulars, except maybe Yellow Rail, and that’s not going to happen. Texas, Florida, California, okay. And of course Michigan – anytime. But Ohio…? 😉
Corey – see you there. Love the idea of a blogger lunch/meetup.
@Wren: dang! Now you made me check my wallet again. But sadly, no go.
🙁
@Jochen: We’ll just have to work on Bill to move the symposium back to Michigan where it belongs. Is Ohio really in the Midwest?
