And while we’re working to ban captive boar hunts in New York why not ban all captive hunts? Real hunters don’t shoot animals raised in captivity or animals that are penned in, do they?

That’s not hunting. That is senseless killing.
Not very sporting at all. Playing devil’s advocate though if the fences were secure (which I’m sure they’re not) though I could see why people would approve of it if they then eat the whole animal (which I’m sure they don’t) compared with eating factory farmed pork….
Quasi-related note: I heard once that hunting emus was becoming a thing in texas because of feral birds breeding following their release by irresponsible bankrupt emu farm owners. Anyone know if a) this is true and if so b) whether any birders have seriously looked at the population and considered it’s addition to the ABA list?
Real hunters shot ’em with lead shot. Hell, yeah!
